Welcome to Pretty In Ink Permanent Makeup By Teri
Hello! My name is Teri, owner and artist behind Pretty In Ink!
PII PMU is one of my three…yes three jobs! I love all of them and can’t settle on just one!
I got into permanent makeup after my own brow transformation and encouragement from my own brow artist and mentor! Once I finally took the plunge and jumped in I haven’t looked back! Shortly after certifying in brows, I added removals and lip blush to the list. I hope to continue adding a few more services over the next year or two.
I am extremely detail oriented and a perfectionist at heart! I have a passion for learning and work hard to continue my education and constantly enhance my skills to better my craft! I love sharing that knowledge with clients and even more so the relationships I’ve built from all the interactions in the studio…we have fun! I hope to add you to that list and see you in the studio soon!
EYEBROWS
There are several types of eyebrows. Powder, Ombre, Combo, microblading. The type of brow that is best for you will be determined based on several factors including skin type, lifestyle, desired results, etc.
LIP BLUSH
Lip Blush can balance symmetry, increase appearance of lip size, camouflage scars, change the color of the lips, & create a more youthful lip appearance. Lip Blush is a natural looking enhancement!
REMOVALS
Removal of old permanent makeup is done using a saline solution and machine technique. Most clients typically need 2-5 sessions before desired results are achieved. Results are not guaranteed as every clients skin is unique.
I believe in adapting to every client’s needs, managing expectations and remaining transparent with all clients and what we can or cannot achieve with permanent makeup. I pride myself on quality not quantity! Please reach out with any questions!
Am I a good candidate for permanent makeup?
Not everyone is a great candidate for permanent makeup. Please read the following. If you have any questions please reach out.
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR PMU?
Are you currently pregnant or nursing?*Hormones could cause color discoloration or excessive color loss/retention.
*Babies children are not allowed in the studio for sanitation reasons. NO exceptions.
Are you an insulin dependent diabetic?
Are you currently taking any type of
blood thinning medication? (Aspirin is fine)
Are you allergic to any topicals a dentist uses? (Lidocaine)
Are you using any brow growth serums? (*these serums bring blood to the skins surface, which then makes the pigment not hold in the skin.)
Do you have a prolapsed heart valve or any other condition that would require an antibiotic before procedures?
Are you using Accutane? If so, this medication can lead to scarring, so you'll need to be off this medication for at least 6 months.
Do you have any previous tattoo or permanent makeup done, that we would be working on or covering up? If so, you MUST send a picture.
Autoimmune disorders, as well as other medical conditions/medications can cause issues which may make you a poor candidate for permanent makeup. If you have any medical issues not listed above, please disclose them to me before booking an appointment.
*Certain conditions still allow you to receive permanent makeup. However, I will require a note from your doctor giving permission.
Please be aware that while receiving permanent make up, you will be required to be lying down for a long period of time. (3-4 hours) You will also have to move from lying to sitting several times. I use a high-grade table to make your appointment as comfortable as possible. The table does have a max weight limit of 350 lbs.
Please note when scheduling you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle. If you have a low pain tolerance, I suggest scheduling outside of this time frame.

What to expect
Immediately after your appointment, you may experience minor redness or swelling around the treated area, which typically goes away within 24 hours. Over the next few hours, the pigment in the skin will oxidize making the brows/lips look darker and warmer than they were initially. This is normal and expected. Pigment typically fades anywhere from 20%-60% once fully healed.
Around day 3-4, you may notice light flaking on the treated area. This is normal! Please refrain from picking. Doing so will result in loss of pigment in those areas and can cause scarring. Treated areas may appear spotty or patchy until the entire area has finished healing. Once all flaking is complete (usually around day 4-7 for lips 10-14 for brows), the area will appear much lighter. The pigment will darken over the next 4-6 weeks and the pigment will return to the surface of the skin with the healed color.
At 6 weeks, your brows/lips will be fully healed. Whatever pigment does not return will be addressed at your touch up appointment. At this appointment, we will assess your retention, touch up spots that didn’t stick, and adjust the pigment color if needed! Once the brows/lips have healed from your first touch up appointment, it is recommended that you return for your yearly color boost 18-36 months or only after color has faded 40-50%!
